A JAM CALLED SATURDAY, began as a residency of multi-instrumentalist, rapper, and singer ZAVEN at a pizza shop in Bushwick, NY. Now in its eighth year, it has grown from a one-man band to a cast of incredible musicians and performers who have only one goal: to create soul-stirring, completely improvised songs from scratch. Drawing on every genre - from hip hop to rock, jazz to funk, EDM to world and beyond - A Jam Called Saturday creates music that is truly of the moment. The audience interacts through prompts, music games - sometimes even performing themselves! At A Jam Called Saturday, everyone is in the band.
