Sarah Anjali is a singer, guitarist, and songwriter, who is embracing the power of music as a guiding force. Shaped by the empowering, unifying, and improvisational spirit of jazz, folk, and world music – Sarah Anjali draws on her influences to offer insight on how we can heal through music. Taking inspiration from artists such as Ani Difranco, Esperanza Spalding, Lettuce, Bobby McFerrin, and the like, Sarah uses her "Soulful vocals" with dynamically powerful instrumentation and vocal arrangements to draw her audiences fully into her world.
Over the last few years Sarah Anjali released 3 new singles, “It May Burn, “All in My Head” and “Rise Up” to great reception. Sarah has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with artists like Jack Brown of Sophistiphunk and Anna Diorio at Lionsgate. More recently, she’s been tearing up the stage with awesome performances throughout the NY music scene with collaborators like Aviva La Viv at Cmon Everybody, Olivia K & The Parkers at Hudson Valley’s Hoot Festival, saxofshaolin at Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturdays, Zaven at Brooklyn Bowl.
For Sarah Anjali, music is a way into understanding yourself, discovering your place in the world. A way into reclaiming our power. She is looking forward to sharing her music with a broader audience as she moves to play more live shows and festivals.
